Get A
Fresh Financial Start
The Bankruptcy Law Offices of Shaun M.
Ellis, LLC
The
filing of a chapter 7 bankruptcy petition allows you to erase your
credit card debt and to obtain a fresh financial start. By filing
a chapter 7 bankruptcy petition, your creditors are prohibited taking
any action to collect a debt from you. A chapter 7 generally takes
90 days from the filing of your case to your discharge. Upon discharge
of your debts, all creditors whose debts that were not exempt from
discharge cannot take any further action against you. This includes
the cessation of lawsuits, the discharge of loans, certain taxes,
medical bills and many, many other debts. Some debts are not exempt
from discharge. These debts are discussed under Special
Issues.
